n8n is an open-source workflow automation platform used by hundreds of thousands of teams to automate operational processes. Shopify is the commerce platform behind millions of online stores. Both are widely adopted. But connecting them required manual work that most Shopify operators were not equipped to do.
To trigger an n8n workflow from a Shopify event (a new order, an inventory change, a customer update), a store owner needed to configure webhooks manually, manage authentication, handle API rate limits, and deal with data formatting differences between the two platforms. For a developer, this is straightforward. For a Shopify merchant who wants to automate their order reporting or inventory sync, it was a barrier that stopped the project before it started.
There was no native connector between Shopify and n8n that handled the plumbing reliably. Merchants either built custom integrations (expensive and fragile) or gave up on n8n entirely and used more limited automation tools.
Streamline Connector is a Shopify app that creates a reliable, authenticated bridge between any Shopify store and n8n. Install the app, connect your n8n instance, and your Shopify data is available to any workflow you build.
What it handles:
The app is designed for two audiences. First, Shopify merchants who want to automate operational tasks (reporting, inventory sync, order notifications) without hiring a developer. Second, automation builders and agencies who need a reliable Shopify-to-n8n connection as the foundation for more complex workflow builds.
Streamline Connector has 400+ active users and has been approved by the n8n community as an official integration. It serves as the data layer for the eCommerce automation workflows Streamline builds for clients.
A transparent note on the numbers: 400+ users includes both free and paid tiers. The app generates recurring revenue but is still early-stage as a product business. Its primary value to Streamline is twofold. It gives us a direct relationship with 400+ Shopify operators who are already thinking about automation. And it is the technical foundation that makes our eCommerce workflow builds faster and more reliable to deploy.

With the Shopify-to-n8n connection handled, we build workflow automations on top of it:
Each of these workflows starts with data flowing from Shopify through Streamline Connector into n8n. The connector is the infrastructure. The workflows are the value.
Streamline Connector shows how we think about automation problems. We did not build a one-off integration for a single client. We identified a gap that affected an entire category of users (Shopify merchants wanting to use n8n), built a reliable tool to close that gap, and shipped it as a product that now serves 400+ stores.
For our consulting work, the connector also does something practical: it cuts setup time on every eCommerce automation project. Instead of spending days configuring the Shopify-to-n8n connection from scratch, we install the app and start building the actual workflow. That means faster delivery and lower cost for clients.
