Connecting Shopify and n8n for Scalable eCommerce Automation
n8n is an open-source workflow automation platform used by hundreds of thousands of teams to automate operational processes. Shopify is the commerce platform behind millions of online stores. Both are widely adopted. But connecting them required manual work that most Shopify operators were not equipped to do.
To trigger an n8n workflow from a Shopify event (a new order, an inventory change, a customer update), a store owner needed to configure webhooks manually, manage authentication, handle API rate limits, and deal with data formatting differences between the two platforms. A transparent note on the numbers: 400+ users includes both free and paid tiers. The app generates recurring revenue but is still early-stage as a product business. Its primary value to Streamline is twofold. It gives us a direct relationship with 400+ Shopify operators who are already thinking about automation. And it is the technical foundation that makes our eCommerce workflow builds faster and more reliable to deploy.
