The Client

Isalis is a fashion and apparel retailer with stores in San Francisco and New York City. Known for a carefully curated product mix and a high-touch in-store experience, Isalis has built a loyal customer base across both coasts.

Their team runs Lightspeed as their point-of-sale platform and Klaviyo for email marketing. Both tools were in place. What wasn't in place was a reliable connection between them.

The Challenge

In-store purchases were completing at both locations every day, but the customer data from those transactions wasn't making it into Klaviyo in any usable form. Profiles were incomplete, purchase histories were inaccurate, and the marketing team was building campaigns without a clear picture of what customers had actually bought or where.

The gap wasn't one missing integration — it was a series of them. Customer identity, store location, individual products, and actual sale prices all needed to come together in a single enriched profile before any of it was useful for marketing.

Every day without a fix meant more customers walking out the door and disappearing from Isalis's marketing reach. The cost was cumulative and invisible — no single missed campaign, just a growing disconnect between what was happening in stores and what the marketing team could act on.

What We Built

Streamline designed and built a real-time data pipeline connecting Lightspeed POS to Klaviyo. The workflow runs on a one-minute cadence, detecting new sales as they close and processing each transaction through a consistent enrichment sequence before anything reaches the marketing platform.

The Pipeline

  1. Sale Completed In-Store: A purchase closes at any Isalis register in SF or NYC.
  2. New Sales Detected: The pipeline checks for any new transactions since the last run — automatically, every minute.
  3. Customer & Store Enrichment: Each sale is matched to a full customer profile and the originating store.
  4. Products Identified: Every item in the order is looked up and attached to the sale record.
  5. Profile Sent to Klaviyo: A complete customer profile and purchase event — orders, products, true sale prices — lands in Klaviyo.
  6. Marketing Preference Check: The system checks whether the customer has opted into email marketing and routes accordingly.
  7. Version Saved: Progress is recorded so the next run picks up exactly where the last one left off.

The result is a Klaviyo database that reflects the full picture of Isalis's customers: accurate purchase histories, correct product associations, true sale prices, and clean list hygiene across both store locations.
